Doesn't do recurring payments with all payment processors (like paypal website payments pro). It will look like it's working fine, let people sign up, then just never charge them again. Don't take a chance with these guys. Too many bugs in the system, poor documentation and hard to use.

I rated 1shoppingcart a 2 instead of 1 because it's okay for newbies. But if you're serious about making money online, look elsewhere. Pros: Easy to use, get up and running in 5 minutes, customize pages to match your site. Cons: Many. Here are some of the problems I have with them on an ongoing basis: - Reliability. I spend $500+ per day on AdWords and 1sc has had frequent downtime lately. This is the problem with a 3rd-party cart - you are at their whim, and having to rely on both your own hosting company, plus theirs, doubles your odds of downtime. - Autoresponder. They have deliverability and reliability issues there. Stick with aweber for a 3rd-party autoresponder. - No fulfillment interface. If you ship products there is no backend login like a normal shopping cart and you have to manually send the order file to fulfillment every day. - AMember API doesn't work. I tried using 1sc with an amember site I have. Each month the people get charged automatically, but about 50% do not get their membership renewed because 1sc's amember integration is very very unreliable. This results in cancellations and chargebacks from angry customers to no end. - No AdWords integration. This is a biggie for me. 1sc won't allow you to put conversion tracking javascript on your cart pages so it is impossible to accurately track AdWords or any other traffic source for that matter.

I operate the site http://www.jazzpianolessons.com and have had a lot of problems with 1SC. In fact, I found 2 mistakes in their code that would have cost me lost sales if I did not catch them. The biggest problem for me is the customer service. I asked them to check out a problem and they told me it was working fine. Really I thought? OK, let me try it again. Hmm, same problem. Turns out they were not using a live credit card to test. Debugging 101, you must follow the exact same procedure to recreate a problem sometimes. Instead, I get the whole "everything is fine, it must be you." They were a bit surprised when I called them and gave them my card to test and the problem recreated itself. Moral of the story, customer service is King! Their cart is overpriced for such poor service. ultracart.com was pretty good.
